Workshop Addressing ADHD and Behavior Management

FreePWCS, ARC OF GREATER PRINCE WILLIAM INVITE PARENTS TO WORKSHOP ADDRESSING
ATTENTION DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER, BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT
Interested parents are invited to attend a free workshop addressing ADHD and behavior management from 7 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Arc of Greater Prince William/Muriel Humphrey Center, located at 13505 Hillendale Drive in Woodbridge.
ARC of Greater Prince William and the PWCS Office of Special Education Parent Resource Center are collaborating to host the workshop, which will feature Dr. James Crist, clinical director of the Child & Family Counseling Center in Woodbridge. Crist will provide a brief overview of ADHD symptoms and address how those symptoms affect behavior management in children and teens. The workshop will also include tips on using behavioral strategies successfully with children with ADHD.
Crist is the author of several self-help books for children and adolescents, including “ADHD—A Teenager’s Guide” and “The Survival Guide for Making and Being Friends.”
Preregistration is required and the workshop is limited to 60 participants. Childcare is available by preregistration only. The snow date is Jan. 31.
